Prasun Roy lives with his family in Kolkata. He hails from West Bengal with his ancestral ties rooted in the district of Burdwan where his forefathers once lived. Prasun enjoys playing tennis and is trained in Western Classical Piano. He is also a prolific biographer of unsung heroes of India.

Prasun’s first book RINGO & THE YOGI was published by the Srishti Publishers and Distributors and it has remained steadily in Amazon Bestseller categories ever since its release. Specifically, the book has persistently remained on the Amazon Bestseller List in categories of “Children’s Mysteries & Curiosities”, “Children’s Literature & Fiction” and “Action & Adventure”. Prasun’s third book, tentatively named A SAMURAI DREAM OF AZAD HIND – RASH BEHARI BOSE, is a biography of Shri Rash Behari Bose. Commissioned by the prestigious Vitasta Publishing, it is a vivid narrative of the National Hero who created the mighty Azad Hind Fauj. The book was released in June 2022 and has been a phenomenal success across the country. The 1st print-run was exhausted within a month of the book’s release and the second reprint had to be initiated. At the book’s grand launch, Mr. Koichi Nakagawa, the Consul General of Japan in Kolkata, India was the chief guests while tennis legend Mr.Jaidip Mukerjea and world-renowned Magician Mr. P.C. Sorcar attended the event. The book’s release and review were covered by leading newspapers (in English, Bengali and Hindi) like The Telegraph, The Statesman, The New Indian Express, Eastern Chronicle, Hindustan Samachar, Sangbad Pratidin, BanglaLive, TheSpace.ink, IndiaBlooms, Northeast Colors and many others. Moreover, with the eminent Rupa Publications, Prasun’s Crime Thriller Fiction book, titled DEVI – MYSTERY OF THE KOLKATA MURDERS has been recently released in October 2023 and has been winning hearts across the country.

In partnership with an eminent actor and theatre personality, Prasun has co-authored two non-fiction titles (One about a world-famous literary figure from Bengal, Rabindranath Tagore, and another about Bengal’s paranormal folktales) that have already been commissioned by the eminent Rupa Publications. The dual deal is a unique one and the two books would be released sometimes in the year 2024 or 2025.

His next book is a non-fiction title on real-life Paranormal Investigations along with India’s foremost Paranormal Investigator, tentatively titled THE PARANORMAL BOY. This book is also going to be published by Rupa Publications in the month of December 2024.

Prasun is an author who is not restricted to one single genre. Thus, he in the process of authoring a non-fiction title based on crime in India during the British Raj, translated from the works of British India’s leading Bengali C.I.D. Daroga, that has already been commissioned by the eminent Om Books International. This book is scheduled to be released in the month of mid 2024.

Prasun has also worked on a mythological fiction, titled KRISHNA’S CONSORT – THE UNTOLD STORY OF RUKMINI, which is a vivid tale about the life of the princess who became the first queen of Lord Krishna. This book is also going to be published by the eminent Om Books International.

Prasun has also worked on a series of translation works wherein he has translated some critically acclaimed Bengali literary classics into English. These include PARANORMAL STORIES BY BIBHUTIBHUSHAN BANDOPADHYAY. These books are also being respectively published by the eminent publishers.

The blog has 67,700 visits till date and his Social Media pages have already grossed up over 12,000 followers. One of the short stories written by Prasun Roy, (named Coffee House), was published in the DNA magazine in June 2006 by Ms. Sathya Saran, the then editor of the magazine. Many short stories of Prasun have been translated to Telugu by Mr. Somashankar Kolluri and published in various prestigious Telugu magazines like “Andhra Prabha, Navya Weekly Magazine and Sakshi Magazine.

Many of his short stories have appeared in leading online magazines like “Active Muse” (Short Stories named POPCORN, RAW MANGO, BITTER GOURD) and “Indian Ruminations” (Short Story named HUNGRY).

Prasun was an active speaker at the Pune International Literary Festival 2019 with a very successful workshop with children on climate change that was covered in the Indian Express Newspaper. He has also successfully participated in the Global YAYAVAR Jammu Literary Festival for Kids that had been organized in April 2020 and had been a part of the Ahmedabad Literary Festival in 2020.
